I have always felt that this is a very viable question about us the human. All ancient texts tell us that we are extremely powerful and that we have dominion over all things. Having dominion does not mean that we are better than anything it simply means that we have power over all things. It is my sense that tells me the reason that we do not know this is because it is not taught to us. I know that while I was studying in India as a monk I saw some amazing things occur that seem to defy all logic it they did indeed occur. I have now come to feel that it is the logical side of mind that keeps us out of the realm of this power. We are the only living thing that is self determining in our world meaning that we may become anything that we so choose in life. In truth we have all been doing that since the dawn of time and most of us feel that we have no power. We do!
Why do I say logic? That is simple because it is logic, in which we all use actually tells us that we are a limited being and we believe it. In truth we do not have to accept that. Consider this even in the biblical texts it tells us that we are just like the Creator, in truth we are we just do not live it! We can though if we totally understand our being and the depth that we all have. You will find this idea presented to you from the ancient Gnostic texts that tell us to make the two into one and you may say mountain move from here to there and it will be given you. After much reflection on this I have come to realize that there is a dual meaning to that idea. The first one is unify with your soul and become one operating principle which moves us away from the idea that we are simply "just a human" for the soul is the divine seed in which we all have but we do not allow it to come to the fore. The second idea in this phrase is the idea of duality and that is a complete illusion to which logic has led us to believe. Where do we get this from? Conditioning! You see when we walk down the street we see other humans by so doing we create the illusion of separation. I am here and you are there so we are separate. We do the very same thing when in a forest we see all of the separate trees in other words we are always creating forms of division in almost everything including ourselves as the individual. Division keeps us away from our true birth right and it is this division on the internal plane which keeps us locked into limitation.
My first suggestion is to be whole within you instead of looking at all of the fragmentation that we live with. Living in this manner keeps divided between our emotions, our thoughts, and our bodies most of us should realize that this assists no one in any way. Unify you into one operating dynamic by so doing you will find a new sense about you and when we operate from this holistic approach we come to realize the power that we wield. This power is not for the sake of power it is simply just a natural part of us which most things lead us away from. It is our logic that gives the power to the outer world. The funny thing is that the outer world has no power at all except for what we give to it. Consider this "money" money has no power in and of itself yet we think that it has power. It does not and never has. It is what we can do with the money that also gives us the illusion of money having power. We actually control the idea of money we are the ones that have given it power. If we give power to something then we are not able to have it. Why? That is simple because we make things more powerful than we ourselves are. We are always giving our power to people, places, and things. As long as we do this then we are continuing the idea of separation and are unifying nothing. Nothing in our reality is more powerful than us but it is up to us to determine how much power we actually have. We are limitless beings once we remove the illusions of power and place it where it belongs within us. It is us that affects all things but we will not realize this until we operate from the level of our soul and by the way it does not know of separation it only understands that all things are one. We are all individual expressions of the same source and nothing less than that. It is us that keep ourselves bound to just a body when we do not have to. This body is merely a vehicle that gives the soul experiences and that is the only reason that we have one.
To come to our full potential is to realize that we already are. I know that when I was studying as a monk they taught us to not look at potential but to be all of that potential in other words live it completely in all ways and in all that we do. Potential is like a carrot on a stick or something that we may never realize because it is always out there in front of us somewhere, this is another illusion. We will never know potential until we remove all things that hold us back and the outer world is not one of those, for we have created the outer world and it all comes down to how we think and feel about ourselves in that world we created. Each an everyone of us have even created ourselves or I should say that the soul has done that and given us the body that we have. Power for power sake will never work and it never has but once we truly realize the level of power we have it is actually very humbling. We all may create what ever it is that so choose in truth we have all of our lives.
